Young Scots urged to join tennis education programme
Tennis Scotland is encouraging youngsters to join their 12-month apprenticeship programme.
The course is designed to give young people under the age of 20 the chance to organise and deliver tennis on a national, regional and local level.
The Tennis Development Apprentices will also undertake development and training activities to help build a potential career in tennis.
Tennis Scotland Coach Development Manager Mat Hulbert said: “The programme aims to prepare the participant for a potential career in sports or tennis development and in recent years we have seen many of our apprentices move on to take on senior coaching roles at some of our clubs.
“We have established a partnership with the Sports Academy of Scotland who has been working with us to deliver our training programme. As the training provider, they guide the apprentices through all the work necessary for completion of the SVQ Level 3 in Leisure Management.”
