Job Description

The core purpose of the HR function is to provide a range of services which will enable NHS National Services Scotland to achieve its strategic objectives and which increase the success of the organisation by improving the processes and decisions that depend on or impact people and the sustainable future of NSS.

Main Responsibilities

To provide administrative support across the Learning and Development team. This includes basic information and advice to staff and managers. To complete the Modern Apprenticeship in Business & Administration within a two year period.

Provide a range of business and general administration and support whilst working toward a Modern Apprenticeship in Business & Administration including:

  • Support the delivery of effective customer service through Gemini system and assist in ongoing, monitoring and evaluation of customer service
  • Processing email, preparing and producing business documents, data and reports
  • Diary management, scheduling of meetings, issuing agendas and taking action notes
  • Assist with and participate in the planning and organisation of meetings and events including arranging venues and hospitality
  • Providing event administration and project support
  • Department filing and photocopying
  • Preparing presentation and materials
  • Maintenance of equipment
  • Any other appropriate duties as required

Qualities/ Requirements


• Understanding of a range of work procedures and practices in relation to administration

• Some part time work experience in a customer service or office environment

• IT user digital literacy


• Knowledge of an office environment

• Experience of confidentiality and/or Information Governance

Qualification Requirements

Daily working hours: Mon – Fri, 9am – 5pm, £16,532pa
